Surplus Property Public Cash Sales Event Q/A
When will these sales events be held?
Sales event will be conducted the 1st Thursday of these quarterly months: March, June, September, and December. PLEASE CALL OUR SURPLUS PROPERTY DEPARTMENT AT 252-328-9941 TO CONFIRM WHEN A PUBLIC CASH SALES EVENT WILL BE HELD. All public sales are conducted from 8:30 am – 11:00 am. There will be no pre-sale viewing period before the sales event.
Can you hold items?
We cannot hold items. Individuals who purchase items must remove the items at time of purchase. Any item left may be resold and no refunds given.
Do I Get A Warranty On An Item?
No. There are no warranties associated with any items sold through the ECU Surplus Retail Store All items are sold “AS IS – WHERE IS.”
Is There Sales Tax on Retail items?
Sales and use tax is included in the cost of the item.

What Does ECU Surplus Do?
ECU Surplus is the seller of all surplus supplies, materials and equipment owned by East Carolina University. Our job is to provide a disposition audit trail and return the maximum value for the State’s personal property.
